Time to petition CCP   Friday, November 16, 2007 at 12:20:52

Introduction

I'm not much of an antagonist when it comes to EvE.  But let me speak to you regarding what I feel is an injustice that is given to us under the guise of fairness.  I must start this introduction with a bit of background and history.  I am a long time member of the EvE community.  I have primarily been interested in the sciences and industry.  My interest in EvE was the potential to become a scientist.  When I joined the only real options for "scientists" was to become a R&D monkey gathering RP hoping for a T2 BPO.  This was the standard for quite some time.  In full disclosure I must tell you I have many times been fortunate to win BPOs in the lottery.

Recently, compared to my total time in EvE, CCP decided to allow Invention.  When I first heard this my spirits soared!  I was finally going to become a virtual Scientist.  At least that was what I thought when I began looking into invention.

Since invention was released we have seen a wild changes in T2 prices.  This was, in my opinion, a good thing for the economy of EvE.  We of course have seen the markets stabilize on various Invention components.  Datacores went from an insane pricing model to where they are now undervalued.  The Encryptors are, as expected, still controlled by a few points of access.  This tends to keep these prices high.

Let me now take you to the world of invention today.  CCP has not removed the T2 BPOs from EvE.  This creates, on a smaller scale than before invention, a price fixing focus by the BPO owners.  The owners of BPOs, not all of them obviously, easily calculate the production costs for the scientific community and undercut their production costs to make invention unprofitable.  This may be seen by some as market stabilization.  It is not.  This model, allowing BPOs to stay in circulation, undermines wealth distribution.  The BPO owners still are allowed to make decent profits while crippling the scientific communities attempt to generate a marginal profit.

Call to arms - Petition CCP

I call on my fellow scientist, inventors, and players of EvE.  I suggest that we take every opportunity to voice our dissatisfaction with the fact that T2 BPOs are still in the game.  This must stop to allow the economy to expand, grow, and mature naturally.  Your petitions should be found in every form - Forum posts, Bio entries, blog entries and any other form of viral protest possible.  Ensure that you never let an opportunity pass to state your dissatisfaction with this issue.  The time has come, the T2 industry belongs to the scientific community, not the holders of printing presses of market control.

Thank you,

Abinadi

For the tl;dr community - It is time to demand that CCP remove T2 BPOs.  This from someone that owns/has owned multiple T2 BPOs.

I'd petition as I agree with you in that respect regarding t2 blues. Trouble is, yer a Mormon, I am my own prophet. I saw god too, but he wasn't some shill like Joseph Smith. I drink, I smoke and I am one heck of a maniac. I ain't smart and I ain't perfect and it ain't happenneing. But heck, good luck with that. Maybe ya can get that godawful church of yours to give food to the hungry, which will be me in about, oh, two weeks. Welcome to Curtopia -- CrazyCurt --
